Daniel Shipton invited to speak at Highlight Midwest

Daniel Shipton has been invited to speak the Highlight Midwest conference in Kansas City. His talk is entitled “The Intrinsic Intagibles of Open Source and Coworking”. Daniel will be discussing a few of the benefits that are shared between Open Source and Coworking. Redship Technologies was founded on Open Source principals which led to the need for and subsequent opening of Impromptu Studio. This is a talk that you don’t want to miss as it is a topic that will show real insights into Daniel Shipton’s background and his understanding and passion for the concepts that his businesses embody.

Mobile Web Development Presentation at Des Moines Web Geeks

James Mounsdon of Redship Technologies presented at a meeting last month of the local user group Des Moines Web Geeks. The Web Geeks have been requesting someone to discuss developing for the mobile web. James has been doing a lot of the web development for us and was on a project that integrated a web application with the Ipod Touch. Daniel decided that this would be a great opportunity for James to discuss  what he had learned. James did a fantastic job of explaining a few “best practices” and walking the group through the differences between general web development and mobile web development. We had a great time and hope that the members of Des Moines Web Geeks found our presentation helpful.

Redship Technologies attends BarCamp Des Moines 2008

On August 23rd, Redship Technologies attended BarCamp Des Moines at Adventureland Inn in Altoona. There was a great turnout from the local technology crowd and media. Daniel Shipton of Redship Technologies sat in on many interesting sessions about Ruby, New Media vs. Old Media, and participated in a discussion of current graduates and the skill sets that are desired from future employers as they enter the workforce. It was a great event and we look forward to attending again next year.

Office @ Impromptu Studio

We packed our bags and moved into Impromptu Studio. This will allow us to be much closer to downtown Des Moines.  You can find us at 300 SW 5th St.

Daniel Shipton of Redship Technologies decided when looking for his current office that Redship would benefit from a coworking community and began searching Des Moines for such a location. With no coworking offices yet in Des Moines, Daniel decided that it would be a worthwhile investment to begin one on his own with Redship Technologies serving as the “host” company. Impromptu Studio opened its doors this summer and Redship moved in. Stop by and see us in the new office. Better yet bring your laptop and cowork with us for the day.
